MyFitnessPal's free plan works through food search. You type a food, pick an entry, and set the serving. Its help center counts 19 million foods and counting, and the company says that list mixes items it researched with foods its members submitted.
TrueCal skips the pick-an-entry step. You write or say something like two scrambled eggs, a slice of sourdough with butter, and an oat latte.
