Same yearly Premium, different extras

On September 23, 2026, MyFitnessPal's live Premium page listed $19.99 a month and $79.99 a year. Lose It! help listed Premium at $79.99 a year, auto-renewing annually. Lose It! does not state a monthly Premium price on that official help article. Help also says prices vary with promotions, and that most users will receive discounted offers while using the app.

Lose It! sells Lifetime at $299.99 one time, or $229.99 for active annual Premium members, with no refunds on Lifetime. The US App Store listing shows other Lifetime SKUs at $49.99 and $59.99 that do not match the help-center Lifetime price. Treat those store SKUs as unexplained unless Lose It! says what they are.

MyFitnessPal has three named tiers, Free, Premium, and Premium+. Premium+ help names the US, UK, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, and Australia. An April 2025 blog post listed Premium+ at $24.99 a month and $99.99 a year. The live Premium page on the check date showed Premium only, and the live help article says pricing varies by country and by plan length, with no Premium+ number.

Both apps keep photo and voice logging on paid plans. Lose It! limits Snap It and Say It to English. MyFitnessPal limits Voice Log to English. Lose It! help created March 31, 2026 says barcode scanning and nutrition label scanning are being moved to Premium, with some free members keeping access during the transition. MyFitnessPal already lists barcode scanning as Premium and Premium+.

Which one to pick

Pick MyFitnessPal if you want its diary, partner-app linking, and a mixed database that the company says includes both researched items and member submissions. Expect ads on free, and expect to pay for barcode, photo, and voice.

Pick Lose It! if a one-time Lifetime price matters more than a yearly sub, or if you already like its Basic calorie budget and 50M+ search. Read the barcode transition note if you still scan for free. Snap It and Say It stay Premium and English only.

Pick TrueCal if you want to log by describing the meal. AI logging comes with Pro. Calories stay available on free manual logging afterward. Run the same packaged food, homemade meal, and restaurant order through each app before you choose.
