Cronometer price in 2026, the free account and what Gold adds
Yes, Cronometer Basic is free with no time limit. The help center confirms unlimited free use. On cronometer.com, Gold costs $10.99 a month or $59.99 a year. Prices checked October 6, 2026.
What the free Basic account includes
Basic is an ongoing account, not a trial that runs out. Cronometer's free feature page lists calorie tracking and up to 95 nutrients and compounds.
- The full food database is available on Basic. Cronometer describes it as over 1 million entries, and includes unlimited barcode scans.
- Free reports and charts cover a 7-day window. The two basic charts track weight and energy consumption.
- Custom meals and recipes are included, along with exercise, weight and heart rate tracking. Apps and devices can sync exercise and health metrics.
- The Basic feature list also includes custom foods, diary groups, notes and biometrics. Custom macro and micronutrient targets are part of Basic too.
- Subscription Types confirms access to the iOS and Android apps and export of all raw data, even though Basic's analysis tools are limited.
Free access comes with ads. The App Store listing marks the download as free with advertising, while Gold removes the ads.
What Gold adds
The Gold feature page puts photo and voice logging in the paid plan. Its additions cover how food goes into the diary and how the recorded data can be viewed.
- Photo Log, Voice Log, Recipe Importer and Repeat Items.
- An ad-free diary, timestamps, Macro Scheduler and Fasting Timer.
- Custom charts and biometrics, nutrition scores, food suggestions and Oracle Nutrient Search.
- Custom food and recipe sharing, printed reports, and nutrition data and charts over any time frame.
- Crono Coach, listed as AI coaching.
The help center's Gold list also names extended library charts, nutrient intake graphs and nutrient balance charts. For more on the app behind those feature names, read our Cronometer review.
Gold monthly and yearly prices
These are US dollar prices. On the Gold page, monthly billing is $10.99. Annual billing takes $59.99 for the year, shown alongside a $4.99 monthly equivalent.
A year paid monthly totals 12 x $10.99 = $131.88. The difference is $131.88 minus $59.99 = $71.89. That is 54.5% of the monthly total, consistent with the page's advertised saving of 54%.
The displayed $4.99 is a way of presenting the yearly plan, not its monthly billing option. Multiplying that display gives 12 x $4.99 = $59.88. The actual yearly bill listed is $59.99.
In the US App Store in-app purchase list, Gold Monthly is $10.99 and Gold Annual is $59.99. The US Google Play listing gives a range of $2.99 to $89.99 per item. It does not name monthly and yearly Gold prices.
Is there a Gold free trial?
No Gold free trial is stated on the Gold page checked October 6, 2026 or in the help center. The Terms leave Cronometer free to offer trial or promotional accounts, but do not require it to offer them. That does not establish an available Gold trial or a trial length.
Renewal, cancelling and refunds
Under Cronometer's Terms, paid services renew automatically until cancelled. Cancellation can be requested at any time, and paid access lasts through the remainder of the current billing period. Cronometer may change its fees with reasonable notice. Apple purchases are subject to Apple's pricing and terms.
The App Store and Google Play descriptions say subscriptions renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the current period ends.
Cronometer's cancellation instructions separate the routes by purchase location.
- Website purchase. In More, open Account and find Subscriptions. Select Do Not Auto-Renew.
- iPhone purchase. Open Settings, then Apple ID, Media and Purchases, and Subscriptions.
- Android purchase. In Google Play, open Payments and subscriptions, then Subscriptions. Select Cancel subscription for Cronometer.
The refund terms rule out refunds for ending or cancelling paid service. Cronometer can review a request case by case, but is not obliged to make an exception.
Those Terms also describe a right to cancel the recurring arrangement in writing within 7 calendar days of first entering it, with a full refund of fees paid within 30 days. Accessing, downloading, installing or using the related service removes that withdrawal right and makes the fees nonrefundable. This condition limits the written cancellation window.
Discounts Cronometer lists
The Refer a Friend program gives the referred friend a one-time $5 discount on monthly or yearly Gold. The friend must not already have a Cronometer account. Basic referrers receive a $5 Gold discount, while Gold referrers receive a $5 electronic gift card. Rewards are capped at 10 successful referrals.
Gift, discount and coupon codes can only be applied to accounts that are not already subscribed to paid services, according to the code rules in the Terms. The Gold page states no student, family or lifetime Gold price.
Cronometer Pro is a separate product for health professionals tracking client data. It lists $39.99 a month with 10 client seats, $2.50 a month per extra seat and a 30-day free trial.
A year of Gold beside four other trackers

For free options, Cronometer Basic and Lose It Basic both cost $0.
Who the free account suits, and who Gold suits
Basic fits a search or barcode routine when the last week's reports are enough. Its free tools cover that use without a subscription. Gold's additions fit someone who wants to speak or photograph a meal, remove ads, view data across any time frame, schedule macros or track fasting.
With TrueCal, manual calorie logging is free. Pro includes macros and logging by typed description, voice, photo or barcode, at $29.99 a year or $9.99 a month. Eligible customers can try Pro free for 14 days in the iPhone or Android app, with the trial run by the App Store or Google Play.
