Noom vs Weight Watchers
Noom Weight suits someone who wants short daily psychology lessons, a weekly coach check-in and calorie logging with green, yellow and orange food categories. WeightWatchers suits someone who prefers a Points number for each food and a daily Points Budget, with 350+ ZeroPoint foods they do not track. For weekly group meetings led by Coaches, WeightWatchers Core+ adds Workshops.
How each program scores food
Noom sorts foods by calorie density into green, yellow and orange. You enter what you eat in its food logger and work within a calorie range. Its categories do not make any food off limits.
WeightWatchers combines nutritional information into one Points value. Sugar and saturated fat raise that value, while protein and fiber lower it. You track against a daily Points Budget tailored to your body and goals.
The 350+ ZeroPoint foods do not need weighing, measuring or tracking. Examples include beans, lentils, fish, fruit, vegetables, oats, tofu and yogurt.
What you do on a normal day
A Noom morning starts with 5 to 15 minutes of psychology-focused lessons. You also log food. Your coach checks in weekly, or more often if you prefer, and you can send messages through the app at any time.
WeightWatchers provides daily trackers for food, activity, macros and weight. You can record a meal with a photo or scan a barcode. Core+ adds weekly Workshops held virtually or in person and in-app chat with Coaches. Core+ is available in participating areas only.
App plan costs and commitments
Noom Weight lists auto-renewing plans at $70 monthly, $169 upfront for 4 months, or $209 upfront for a year. Its page gives monthly equivalents of $42.25 for the 4-month plan and $17.50 for the annual plan. It says most users start with the 4-month plan.
WeightWatchers Core showed a starting price of $12 a month with a 12-month commitment. That offer covered the first 12 months and ended September 30, 2026. It auto-renews at a regular price that was not listed. A monthly Core price without a commitment was not listed either.
The Core+ price was a limited offer when checked on September 30, 2026. Its regular price was not listed. Check the current terms before comparing that plan with Noom.
Noom lists a 7-day or 14-day trial. For the 7-day trial, you choose a price.
Noom and WeightWatchers also sell medication or clinic plans, which this comparison leaves out.

If you want a tracker without either program
TrueCal is a calorie and macro tracker without Points, food colors, lessons or a coach. Its $0 Free plan covers manual calorie entries, daily and weekly views, and meal history. Macro breakdowns require Pro.
Pro adds AI, photo, barcode and voice logging, custom goals and saved-meal tools. It costs $29.99 a year or $9.99 a month. For eligible customers, the 14-day Pro trial runs through the App Store or Google Play in the iPhone or Android app.
TrueCal works on iPhone, Android and the web. It fits someone who wants to keep a food record without signing up for lessons or coaching.
