Chipotle bowl calories from rice to toppings

Chipotle prints 420 to 910 calories for a burrito bowl in its US nutrition file, read October 9, 2026.

A bowl with chicken, white rice, black beans, fresh tomato salsa and cheese adds up to chicken 180 + white rice 210 + black beans 130 + fresh tomato salsa 25 + cheese 110 = 655 calories. Its protein is 32 + 4 + 8 + 0 + 6 = 50 g.

Source is Chipotle's US nutrition PDF, read October 9, 2026. The guide to reading a nutrition label explains what a listed portion means.

Protein relative to calories

Protein g / calories x 100 gives grams of protein per 100 calories. For chicken, 32 / 180 x 100 = 17.8 after rounding to one decimal.

  • Chicken has 17.8 g protein per 100 calories.
  • Steak has 14.0 g protein per 100 calories.
  • Barbacoa has 14.1 g protein per 100 calories.
  • Carnitas has 11.0 g protein per 100 calories.
  • Sofritas has 5.3 g protein per 100 calories.

Separate from Chipotle's prepared ingredients, our pages on plain black beans, white rice and brown rice cover those foods on their own. The same distinction applies to plain avocado and chicken breast.

Calories added by another ingredient

At the listed portions, either rice adds 210 calories and either bean adds 130. Cheese adds 110, as does sour cream. Guacamole adds 230 and an entree portion of queso blanco adds 120. Fajita vegetables add 20. A burrito flour tortilla adds 320.

Orders with the addition written out

These totals use the file's individual portions. Each number follows the ingredient order named in that example.

Steak with brown rice and pinto beans

Steak 150 + brown rice 210 + pinto beans 130 + tomatillo-red chili salsa 30 + sour cream 110 = 630 calories. Protein is 21 + 4 + 8 + 0 + 2 = 35 g.

The chicken bowl inside a burrito

The opening bowl's chicken, white rice, black beans, fresh tomato salsa and cheese total 655 calories. With the listed burrito flour tortilla, 655 + 320 = 975 calories. Protein is 50 + 8 = 58 g.

Sofritas with corn salsa and guacamole

Sofritas 150 + white rice 210 + black beans 130 + roasted chili-corn salsa 80 + guacamole 230 = 800 calories. Protein is 8 + 4 + 8 + 3 + 2 = 25 g.

Double chicken with the opening bowl's toppings

A double portion here means two listed portions added together. It is arithmetic, not a number Chipotle prints.

Chicken is 2 x 180 = 360 calories and 2 x 32 = 64 g protein. With white rice, black beans, fresh tomato salsa and cheese, 360 + 210 + 130 + 25 + 110 = 835 calories. Protein is 64 + 4 + 8 + 0 + 6 = 82 g.

The menu range leaves its endpoints unexplained

The printed burrito range is 740 to 1210 calories, compared with 420 to 910 for a bowl. Burrito minus bowl is 740 minus 420 = 320 at the low end and 1210 minus 910 = 300 at the high end.

The file does not identify the ingredients at either end of those ranges, so the printed ranges cannot be rebuilt from the ingredient rows.

Items this file does not give a nutrient row

Chipotle.com promotes Pollo Asado and Chili Lime chips on October 9, 2026. Neither appears in this file, so neither is included in the calculations here.

There is also no Veggie row in the nutrient table. Page 1 prints Veggie at 230 calories and 4 oz, described as guacamole plus a choice of beans. That statement does not supply Veggie protein, so no Veggie protein total is calculated here.

Chipotle's nutrition calculator is available for individual builds. This page uses only the PDF's numbers.

A restaurant meal in your TrueCal log

A TrueCal restaurant meal description can name the chain, dish, portion and changes to the order. Its sources include published restaurant and brand information. Restaurant and homemade meal estimates are not perfectly accurate.

Manual calorie logging costs nothing. Pro includes macros and logging through a typed description, voice, a photo or a barcode. The iPhone and Android apps offer a 14-day free trial through the App Store or Google Play. The stores run that trial.

Logging restaurant meals through ChatGPT covers meal descriptions, and TrueCal's source information explains where nutrition data comes from. Another restaurant breakdown covers Chick-fil-A nuggets.
