Calorie deficit calculator
Turn your daily calorie burn estimate into a target for losing 0.5 to 2 pounds per week.
Enter your TDEE, choose the weekly rate, and see the daily calorie target produced by TrueCal's goal math. The result applies the same minimum-calorie floors used by the app: 1,500 calories for male and 1,200 calories for female or other selections. If you do not know your daily burn yet, start with the TDEE calculator.
How the calorie target is calculated
TrueCal converts the weekly rate from pounds to kilograms, uses 7,700 calories per kilogram, divides that weekly energy amount across seven days, and rounds to a whole-calorie daily deficit. The calculator subtracts that value from your TDEE. Those steps mirror the product-owned functions rather than using a separate marketing formula.
The listed rate is still an estimate. Body-weight change is noisy, and a calculated target cannot guarantee a specific result. Compare the estimate with your measured intake and weight trend over time.
What the safety floor changes
If the raw target falls below TrueCal's minimum for the selected sex, the displayed target stops at that floor. The result panel keeps the unadjusted number visible so you can see when the requested rate and the safer target differ. The product also caps a calculated deficit at 1,000 calories per day.
Use the target as a starting point, not medical advice. Browse calories in common foods, review how TrueCal logging works, compare tracking features, or open TrueCal to record what you actually eat.
